From a position of leadership within the hip hop genre, Reminisce seeks to preserve the culture and elevate the discourse about hip hop beyond the mundane. The Cypher Sessions Vol. 1 marks a beginning in Reminisce’s quest to give young and relatively unknown acts a voice to express their artistry.
With the base elements of rap: One DJ; a turntable and MCs on the microphone, Reminisce will showcase the greatness that Nigerian Hip Hop has become. The Cypher Sessions are devoid of the embellishments that characterize the music industry today.
Volume 1 features some of the fiercest MCs in the genre: CDQ, Vector and Ola Dips. Subsequent editions will host some of most talented rap cats on this side of the divide, while also giving opportunities for underground heroes to get their music heard.
