Opty Designs started way back in my secondary school days precisely JSS3. I had this fake school sandal that got spoilt almost everytime, my mum wasn’t ready to get me a new one, so didn’t have a choice but to repair it with my allowance each time, it eventually got to a stage that I could do the repairs myself. I can still remember where and when I went to buy chooker and thread and how started the repairs at home. I got to school the next day and started calling myself a shoe maker.
I also made pam slippers as my JSS3 project and in my Senior School I helped people repair shoes of other pupils at a fee depending on how badly damaged it was.
My entire life experiences have made me the designer I am today, I am a very passionate and wild individual who has had his own share of ups and downs in Life which has driven my high expectations and creativity, All my designs always have a message from my past experiences or things have read in books or learnt.
I get my inspiration from God and old designs and sometimes movies or pictures, It all depends on my mood or what am doing. When I want to bring my inspirations into reality I pray to God for help and “sometimes I put myself in that flight mode so I can see things how they are meant to be. I create trends depending on the customers choice, some people like new things while others love trending things.
Designing to me is not all about dressing well or making people look good but the story behind each pair or style or design made.
